Is Microsoft Windows 7 boots faster as announced by Microsoft? actually not.
In front end, it feels like that, but not.
Some software benchmarking companies such as lolo concluded that Windows 7 is takes more booting time than Vista. Actually the Windows 7 shows the desktop quickly before loads all system processes, that’s why you feel Windows 7 boots faster.
But for me, the boot time is not a big deal as long as reliability and secuirity is concerned.
Comparing with Vista (as per my experience), Windows 7 is more stable, and obviously easy to use, more security and necessary features are optimized. No need to shutdown, just put your system to Sleep Mode, Windows 7 uses less power than the previous OS, and recovers from Sleep Mode quickly.
I am using the RTM version of Window 7 in my Dell laptop for a month, I found It’s worth to buy and use…For me as a developer, I consider to upgrade my laptop OS from Vista to Windows 7.

You may be right …but for me…it is faster than even XP SP 2 ….. I have experienced it……Cnet is lying
Yes, Windows 7 is faster than XP.
But not faster than Vista…
Windows 7 is not a major technoly or architecture update, it’s a polished version of Windows Vista….
It also working nicely in my laptop. I think its much faster..
